Tomorrow! An Easter Experience
This is a family-friendly event with the little ones in mind. Adults and children are invited to walk to Jerusalem along with Jesus. There will be crafts and fun activities that will help the kids understand Easter.
Join us in The Gathering Place rain or shine! The event will run from 3:00 to 5:00 PM
Learn about the Seder, Decorate an Easter Egg, Stories of Jesus, Make a “God’s Eye”, Veggie Tales: “The Night Before Easter”, Decorate the Cross and Pray in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Live Nativity Drive Through
From 8:30pm – 9:30pm at our campus located at 12401 Alder Woods Drive in Fairfax, VA.
On a looped course through our church’s parking lot, you’re invited to drive past a Nativity scene of Pender UMC members, staff, and friends.
This drive through event is a safe and fun way to experience the joy of the Savior’s birth.
Local Pumpkin Fun
Join us for some Fall Fun! Activities to include pumpkin carving, a pumpkin contest, and a costume contest!
Please bring your own pumpkin! We will provide carving tools and trash bags and cleanup stations!
Costumes are encouraged!
We will keep you safe while enjoying time together. Masks are required. Upon arrival, you will check in, answer some quick health check questions and be given your designated space for your family so that you can be safely social distanced from others.

Storytime, Songs and Dancing!
The Promise of Light
You’re invited to a musical celebration of God’s gift of eternal light! The Pender UMC music ministry presents “The Promise of Light”, a cantata (narrative piece of music) composed by Joel Raney. The piece includes Christmas carols and original choral music blended with narration, piano, handbell, and percussion, to tell the timeless story of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Light of the World.
The production will take place during Pender’s only Sunday worship service on December 9, at 10 a.m. Stay for a delicious brunch after worship!
No RSVP required; all are welcome. Childcare will be available during worship for ages birth through 6th grade.

Pender VBS will run from July 9-13, 9 am to noon.

Let’s get in the Christmas spirit together this Sunday, December 3rd, at our 8:15, 9:30 or 11:00 am Service.
Our amazing Sanctuary Choir (MrsO sings in it!) and Orchestra will present a Cantata by Joseph M. Martin entitled “The Mystery and the Majesty.”
From jubilant glorias to gentle manger lullabies, this inspirational cantata celebrates the wonder and splendor of Christmas. Traditional carols and newly composed seasonal anthems blend with thoughtful narration to help create a meaningful experience.

Summer Music Camp
Pender Music Camp, July 10-14, 12:30-3:30 pm (This is why MrsO doesn’t teach in the afternoon this week!)
The theme for this summer’s Pender UMC music camp will be “Star Quest.” We will be exploring music that expresses the goodness of God’s creation and tells of the truth of His word in the Bible.
Children will be rotating through handbell, Orff, drumming and craft classes. In addition to these “out-of-this-world” classes, we will be preparing and presenting excerpts from the musical “Star Quest – The Search for the Stolen Scriptures.”
Join us this year as we blast off to fun and song! For ages rising 2nd grade – rising 6th grade.
